How long will the tan last?
Depending on how well you prepare,
and take care of your spray
tan afterwards, about 5-10 days.
If you tan regularly, your skin
will get used to the spray, and
will hold the colour longer. Then
you might need a top up every
2 weeks or so.

What if I have a very fair skin that
has never been able to tan?

Hey, this is exactly why the spray
tanning process was designed
in the first place, for people that could
not tan by any other method! Most
probably you will get a fantastic
colour with spray tan! Of course,
people that tan easily will tan too.

FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Is it true that an airbrush tan will help minimize the appearance of cellulite & varicose veins? YES. An airbrush tan will also minimize the appearance of scars, blemishes, vitiligo and even unwanted tan lines!

Why not just use a cream or lotion tanner?
Imagine the difference between using your hands to smear paint over your car and using an airbrush to paint it. You just can't achieve the same even, natural coverage.

Why a Custom Airbrush Tan?
Nothing compares with a custom airbrush tan applied by a trained technician. We offer a full range of tanning solutions to accomodate your skin type and desired level of tan. Our technicians use "body sculpting" techniques personalized for your shape and skin. Blending subtle tones of light and dark we can enhance your curves and cleavage, melting away the pounds to make you look a full dress size smaller. And absolutely No blotchy streaks or white spots - just a gorgeous, natural looking tan.

How long does it take to apply?
We understand that our customers are on-the-go people and pride ourselves with keeping tanning sessions to under half an hour. Ten minutes for the airbrushing, a few minutes for powdering, slip on your sweats and go - it's that quick!

How long will my spray tan last?
The length of time you will enjoy your tan depends on various factors. The primary factor is how well you typically hold a natural tan along with how hydrated you keep your skin. On the average, most clients enjoy their tan for about 5-10 days before it has fully, naturally faded. The desired depth of color will determine how often you need to have it redone. As with any tan, the more you moisturize, the longer you will keep your tan.

Will my sunless tan protect me from the sun?
Your sunless tan provides no UVA/UVB protection. Use a good sun block if you plan to be outside.

Will it ruin my clothes?
The tanning solution is airbrushed onto the skin in a fine mist, quickly dries and contains no permanent dyes. The all-natural tanning solution is water based and WILL NOT dye any clothing that it may contact. It washes easily out of clothing and other materials; it only reacts to human skin. Once your tan is fully developed and you have showered, your tan is set and it will not rub off on your clothes.

The Advantages of Airbrush Tanning
Spray tanning booths can produce poor results due to lack of customization. Airbrush tanning offers a customized solution and customized application, providing a flawless tan.

No more self-applied orange, streaky self-tanners.

No UV damage.

Quick, flawless and very natural looking.

I have rosacea, vitiligo, heavy scarring or stretch marks; will tanning work for me?
Sunless tanners are great for people with rosacea who want to hide the pink and red splotches caused by a flare-up. It is also a miracle worker for those with vitiligo, although they may need to tan as often as every other day, depending on skin color. Scars - if they get any color at all, it's usually light. The newer the scar, the less tanner it will absorb. Old stretch marks will be covered by airbrush tanning. Newer ones won't as much, but as they age and heal, they will disappear under your airbrush tan.

Skin Cancer and Melanoma Statistics
According to the American Association of Dermatology, over one million people visit some form of tanning bed each day, despite all warnings about the link of UV rays (natural and artificial) to the development of skin cancer. Half of all new cancer cases are skin cancer. There are more than one million new cases of skin cancer every year. The cases of Melanoma (the non-treatable form of skin cancer) have more than tripled among Caucasians from 1980 to 2002. In addition to the clear and present danger of cancer, there is also wrinkling, sun poisoning and communicably transmitted diseases from unclean, unsterile tanning beds.

History

San Juan Capistrano is the site of a Catholic mission for which it is named, Mission San Juan Capistrano. When the Mission was founded in 1776, the region was populated by the Acjachemen band of Native Americans, called Juaneos by the Spanish. The mission was named after Giovanni da Capistrano (1386-1456), the Franciscan saint from Capestrano, in the Italian region of Abruzzo.

The city is the site of California's oldest residential neighborhood, Los Rios. It is also the home of the oldest in use building in California, the Serra Chapel in the Mission. The area was the site of both the first vineyard and first winery in California.

In the 1830s Richard Henry Dana, Jr., author of the classic Two Years Before the Mast visited the area as a sailor engaged in the hide trade on board the ship Pilgrim. Describing the locale, which then included what is now the neighboring city of Dana Point, he gushed, "San Juan is the only romantic spot in California." The area was also the locale of Johnston McCulley's first Zorro novella, The Curse of Capistrano, published in 1919 (later renamed The Mark of Zorro after the success of the film of the same name).

The swallows of Capistrano

The 85-foot (26 m) high main rotunda and 104-foot (32 m) bell tower make Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano the tallest building in town. Designed "in the spirit and likeness" of the "Great Stone Church," which is in ruins in the Mission. Pope John Paul II conferred the rank of Minor Basilica to this facility on February 14, 2000.

San Juan Capistrano is also famous for its cliff swallows. The protected birds are reputed to return from migration, traditionally originating in the town of Goya, Argentina, on St. Joseph's Day (March 19) each year, a day celebrated by the city's annual Swallows' Day Parade and other festive events and old west 1890s style Melodrama at the Camino Real Playhouse starring San Juan's Villain at Large Professor Mack played by Gary McCarver of The New Home for American Melodrama. The swallows are reputed to leave on October 23, the former feast day of St. John of Capistrano. The 1940 hit song "When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano", written by Leon Ren, is a love song centering on these annual events.

Since 2009, the famous swallows have failed to return to San Juan Capistrano. They have instead begun migrating to and nesting in the Chino Hills of Southern California, north of San Juan Capistrano. They have built their mud nests in the eaves of the Vellano Country Club, situated around a golf course in the Chino Hills just north of the Chino Hills State Park. Mission San Juan Capistrano officials state it is because the mission is no longer the tallest building in the area due to urban sprawl and has thus stopped attracting the swallows for nesting.

Education

The city is served by Capistrano Unified School District. In the 20072008 academic year San Juan Hills High School opened with about 600 freshmen students. It is the city's only public high school. Ultimately, nearly all San Juan Capistrano's high school students will move to this campus as well as some students from Capistrano Beach, San Clemente High school, and southern Ladera Ranch. Residents from these other communities did not want to attend a school in San Juan on the basis that it was farther than the current schools they were attending and that the communities had too many differences. Many residents wanted to stay at the established high schools their communities had been attending for years. Much of the tension has died down, but there is still substantial resentment that children of residents in Capistrano Beach, who have historically attended San Clemente High School, should be compelled to take the long journey to the new high school. These residents contend the County of Orange should follow its original long range plan and complete La Pata Parkway through to San Clemente which would permit students in the Talega subdivision to attend the school which was built and intended for their use and redirect those students away from San Clemente High School.

This city also has four private, Christian, college prep schools named Capistrano Valley Christian Schools (Pre-K through 12th grade), Saddleback Valley Christian School (Pre-K through 12th grade), St. Margaret's Episcopal School (also Pre-K through 12th grade), and JSerra Catholic High School (9th through 12th grade).

The city also has two private kindergarten through eighth grade schools named Mission Parish School and Rancho Capistrano Christian School. Mission Parish School is located on the historic Mission grounds, utilizes some of the historic buildings as classrooms, and is situated next to Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano. The other is Rancho Capistrano Christian School, located off Highway 5 on the Crystal Cathedral's south campus. The campus at Rancho Capistrano is also host to meetings and conventions, as well as summer camps.
